  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
  • 6 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cubed bread, cooked sausage, and cheese.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
