  • 1 whole turkey
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix the butter with the salt, pepper, and herbs.
  4. Rub the butter mixture under the skin and on the outside of the turkey.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the bottom.
  6. Roast the turkey for about 13-15 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the turkey rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.
