Deliciously addictive Christmas Crack made with Saltine crackers and toffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture over the crackers evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate.
  8. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, drizzle with white chocolate after cooling.
  • Ensure not to overbake, as the toffee can burn quickly.
