- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (such as rosemary and thyme)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the grated cheddar and herbs.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk and melted butter.
- Mix until the dough comes together, then turn it out onto a floured surface.
- Knead gently for a few moments, then shape into a round loaf.

- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
