A delicious and hearty Amish Hamburger Steak Bake that is perfect for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 servings of mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onions, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  3. In a skillet, brown the patties on both sides, then place them in a baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with beef broth and pour over the patties.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. In the last 10 minutes of baking, add mashed potatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Remove foil and bake until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve with a side of green beans or your favorite vegetable.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
